This article of the magazine is completly dedicated to the "National Museum" an excellent place to visit if you are in Bogotá. I noticed, when I was there that It is a prove of Colombia’s history, art, and culture. It is Located in Bogotá , and is the biggest and oldest museum in Colombia.
This Museum is the oldest in the country and one of the oldest in the continent. It was first built in 1874. The Museum has really wonderful pieces of Colombian artifacts. If your time in Bogota is short, this might not be a must see as it is a bit out of the way, between La Candelaria and Zona Rosa, but if you have time and in particular are in town on a Sunday, it is worth stopping in. Since it is on Carrera 7 and this street is closed to traffic on Sundays, it is a much more enjoyable walk and you can snack the whole way there making the time go by quickly. You also see locals doing the same and many of them going into the museum too as it is free on Sundays too. I was really interested in the history of the museum when I visited it, so I take note of the most important facts of it and all I have to say is that this wonderful place is a very nice museum to visit, and not only to visit but to learn about bogota's and colombia's history. If you come to bogota you really need to visit it, It is wonderful!
This is an sculpture you can find at the museum and its front part:
